I don’t know how many of you have seen the performance or non-performance of Ashlee Simpson on SNL the other night but it was pretty funny. I can’t believe how much press this whole incident has gotten though. It’s actually getting ridiculous. I’ve been home all day (it’s my day off today JM-so don’t call me lazy) and all over the news and the teasers of the segments to come is Ashlee’s poor, pitiful performance. You can see it here if you haven’t yet. I guess the thing about it that’s so “terrible” is that she walked off the stage and left her bandmates out to dry, then at the end of the show she had the gall to blame them for the whole debacle.

I still, though, can’t believe how much she is being slammed by the news media and the like. I don’t like her music, but wow she’s getting nailed…I think this morning she was on the Today show to ‘explain what happened’. Isn’t it going a little overboard? I guess we as a society love to slam down people the minute they make a mistake because it somehow makes us feel better, especially when it’s a celebrity. I went to her website last night to take a look at some of the message boards there and see what people were writting and it was some of the funniest things I’ve ever read. She was being nailed for being talentless and a spoiled brat by almost everyone. I couldn’t believe that they were publishing half of the comments people were saying. When I went back today to read some more they had completely taken down the message boards. I guess they got a little overwhelmed with all the negativity!
