The Terri Schiavo situation is a horrible personal tragedy, but that is exactly what it is – a personal tragedy that law makers need to quit playing politics with. If those who claim to “protect the sanctity of life” are serious, maybe they should work to save the the millions of people who die each year needlessly. Hunger and war are not personal tragedies, they are the failure of a civil society.
