Interesting article on how (7 day) Creationists are using roadside 45-foot-high concrete dinosaurs to promote and teach Creation. They maintain that dinosaurs arrived on Earth the same day as Adam and Eve 6,000 years ago, roamed the Garden of Eden and were marched two by two onto Noah’s Ark.
Ken Ham, president of Answers in Genesis said of the dinosaurs, “They’re used to teach people that there’s no God, and they’re used to brainwash people,” he said. “Evolutionists get very upset when we use dinosaurs. That’s their star.”
Not that this is a bad idea (although I don’t fully agree with the 7-day theory, nor do I agree with macro-evolution) it just seems as if it’s extremely antagonistic–like all they are trying to do is tick off evolutionists. Not a smart move and fairly ridiculous. Why must Christians do that? Why must we always portray ourselves as better than everyone else and then shove it in their face?
