Here’s an interesting article on beliefnet.com written by Tony Campolo in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Although there are some points that I agree with him on (i.e. God did not cause this to happen, this is not judgement from God for any various reaseon, etc.) I do fear his process theology–that God is not all-powerful, but rather just an “influential” entity in the world (granted he is the most influential being). This idea about God does make it a little easier to justify pain and suffering in the world, but at the detriment of subduing God’s power…
