Rick Warren has been in talks with Synagogue 3000 about bringing mega-church principles (small-groups, worship styles, etc.) into their midst to help boost sagging attendance in the synagogues. This all in an attempt to bring more meaningful spiritual experiences to the synagogues.
Synagogue 3000 engages worshippers to be center stage active players instead of disengaged spectators.The objective of Synagogue 3000 is to encourage Jews to recommit to Jewish tradition and synagogue life by creating new 21st century spiritual arenas where relationships with God and with each other define everything the synagogue does.
I find it interesting that they’re looking to Warren for help. I wonder if he’ll try and peddle Purpose Driven Life (PDL) to them minus Jesus… It would be amazing, though if he got them to use PDL–even minus Jesus there are a lot of things that subtly point to Jesus in that book without really mentioning him. It could be a very interesting series of events as it seems Synagogue 3000 is open to a lot of change.
//*An interesting thing that I learned just recently in conversation is that most Jews believe that every person in the US are Christians. You are born into Judaism and so they think that Christians are born into Christianity which encompass all of the US…the same belief would then probably hold true for Muslims.
