and the religious right thinks we’re persecuted in america because “merry christmas” is being replaced in stores by “happy holidays”… (./link)

“a woman in her 20s executed by a firing squad after being caught with a bible. five christian church leaders punished by being run over by a steamroller before a crowd of spectators who ‘cried, screamed out, or fainted when the skulls made a popping sound as they were crushed.’”

i don’t think i’ve ever read of persecution in the church and been struck as much as i was by reading this entire account that took place in north korea… my heart weeps and yet i wonder how i would fare in such a situation.
