and what it says about ministry today

12.7-8: in an age of irony and an attitude of “whatever,” all modes of ministering in the church call for integrity and genuine investment. if a person claims to speak on God’s behalf, let him not speak beyond his degree of faith or understanding. any way you can minister to the needs of the body of Christ, be authentically engaged in your work; don’t just go through the motions. that holds true for all preaching, serving, teaching, leading, encouraging, contributing, and meeting people’s needs.
12.9: people want to know you care before they care how much you know, so let your love be genuine. though you live in an age where tolerance is touted almost as the sole virtue, you must be willing to hate some things. hate all that is evil and embrace all that is good!
