i don’t know why, but i find the title of this book to be quite comical. why do we think that parent’s can actually prevent their kids from being gay… i don’t know a whole lot about the genetics argument for homosexuality, but i find it rather difficult to believe that someone would choose to be gay. i actually believe the arguments that homosexuals provide that it is ‘one of the most difficult lifestyles to lead, so why would we choose to be this way,’ is actually a valid one. a close friend has told me before, “if I had the choice I’d be straight… but it’s not like a lightswitch I can just turn off and all of a sudden I’m normal.” it’s the same way with alcoholism and any other genetically inherited vice… unfortunately we don’t treat it that way. homosexuality is a sin, plain and simple… but does that mean we should treat people in such a loveless way when they come into our midst? why are we so prone to treat homosexuals like they have the plague, like it’s some sort of disease…
i guess if you buy the book though, you’ll be able to prevent an outbreak of gayness in your midst… and if you’re unable to, then you’re a lousy parent.
p.s.~ i find it funny that there’s a “suggested donation” for this book simply because when you go to the checkout you can’t “donate” what you want. you have to PAY the actual price they are suggesting you donate. why can’t they just call what it is… you’re buying a book.
