If you hate Microsoft MySpace, then here is something that will REALLY get under your skin. Xianz is a new blogging system and social networking system for Christians only…. Christians only? WHAT?
You have to be a Christian to sign up to Xianz.com – sounds to me like an open invitation for pagan hackers to have some fun. Not only does Xianz separate the sheep from the goats, but they also separate the older from the younger so that you can have virtual chat-friends from your age group only. God forbid we have he older teaching the younger. Or vice versa.I won’t say too much here, in case i make enemies… but Xianz does NOT appeal to me nor do I want my children to blog their lives inside an articifially created goldfish bowl that ONLY SEEMS LIKE it will be safe from undesirables…namely, non-Xianz.

onward christian ghetto… onward. let’s keep separating ourselves and secluding ourselves from making any real difference in the world, let’s continue to hoard the gospel to ourselves and not let anyone in unless they’re already a christian… this is ridiculous. why are we afraid of having christians that are non-christian… why are we afraid of having any contact whatsoever with those that are not like us? why do we continue to categorize our lives outside of the realm of the world in which we live?
i’ll bet a slew of youth ministers jump on this bandwagon and promote the hell out of it to their kids… how much more will we continue to impoverish our students in the realm of missiology?
