well, the world cup is here… and for some reason i’m really excited about it. i’ve never really watched much soccer in the past and as an american, soccer isn’t really the most exciting thing in our culture… but for some reason this year i’m hooked. i watched england’s matc this past weekend and it was exciting… the US kicks off in the next few minutes, and i’ll be glued to the television to watch the whole thing.
supposedly the US team is one of the top 5 teams in the world… who’d have thunk it! i don’t know enough to pick a victor, but i guess i’ll be rooting for the good ol’ red, white, and blue… and if they falter probably england.

man the US sucked it up… losing 3-0 against the czech republic… well, the chances for the US to make it out of group play is pretty slim, unless italy and ghana tie in their match later today. what is it about american sports in international play that makes them play so bad? remember the world baseball classic?
