ever wonder…

August 14th, 2006 § 4 comments

do you ever wonder how different your life would be if you would have made just one decision differently?

isn’t it amazing how the many different decisions that we make throughout the course of our lives can radically alter the direction and course we take?

it’s amazing that so many more people don’t live with regret…

It’s not that people dont live with regret its that they dont show it.

Also, it depends on how you view regret too. I view it as, hey I screwed up many times and majorly in life and still do. It’s what happens out of that situation that makes me live with it.

Some times great things come out of doing regrettable things down the road. It doesnt make you say hey I should do that more often, but it does go to show God is a forgiving God.

It’s too bad life isn’t one of those “chose as you go” books where you can peak ahead to the end of the book to see how your decision turns out. I remember reading these books when I was a kid. The only substantive thing I remember is that one time I made a choice that caused my plane to blow up in the air after being threatened by terrorists carrying chemical bombs. Creepy eh?

Of course, it you believe the Coppenhagan (multiverse) interpretation of quantum mechanics you HAVE made every different decision and lived every different life.

Hmm… I would wager to say that more people than you know live with regrets. We get so scared, and in turn harden our hearts so that those around us won’t see how miserable we are on the inside. Sometimes we even convince ourselves that we are fine… that it’s in the past… yet somehow that guilt seems to live on. I have learned through the advice of a very, very dear friend, that to be totally healed, you must scour out the wound all the way down to the bottom… only then can it ever heal without the chance of infection down the line… and let me also tell you that although it may be one of the most painful things… the freedom it brings is more than amazing.
