and now i’m famous…

well, today i got an interesting phone call from the decatur herald & review (our local paper) wanting to do an interview with me  in collaboration with several other area pastors on some reflections of the changes in the church post-9/11…  i may have been a little too forthright in some of my thoughts… but i guess we’ll see how it turns out.  this is my first, and quite possibly my last foray into the realm of the media.

anyhow, now back to the grind…

As a coach I deal with the media all the time. They like to twist words to fit the tone they want the article to take. I measure my words very carefully if I know I’m going to be quoted. Too many phone calls from upset parents & administrators.

We will see how people take to your liberal way of thinking, mr. mc cheese….

yeah, i might be screwed on the whole “twisting words” thing… i think i talked to much. i could hear the lady typing frantically in the background trying to keep up with me…

    great, now i’m scared.

    not really… ;)

well, i was quoted in the paper… and it wasn’t twisted, nor was it taken out of context. (thank goodness!)

i feel all special and proud now because i was only 1 of 3 area pastors quoted in the paper for this article… granted, i was given the least amount of “space”… but that’s an okay thing with me! ;)
