“encouraging” emails

November 3rd, 2006 § 2 comments

i get a lot of emails now… more than ever before and sometimes it’s a difficult task to keep up with them all.  but there are those types of "encouraging" emails that are my favorite, and they typically start out like this:

i love your preaching, but…

they attempt to encourage, but at the back-end are filled with gripes and complaints of all sorts about the very preaching that they "love".  half the time they’re the most ridiculous things that you could ever hear–i won’t share in order to protect the innocent.

i do, however, like to print them off and stash them away in order to pull them out on a rainy day for a good ol’ laugh.  sometimes, it’s all i can do to not respond: ‘i love your face, but…’

ah, the joys of preaching… the joys of ministry… the joys of people.  it really is a hoot!  (no sarcasm intended)
