We just entered into a war with Somalia which not many people here are aware of — it is just happening as we speak. I have friends in Eritrea and the latest news is that our Navy ships are starting to block supply routes to Somalia, which is an act of war or aggression per the Warsaw Pact and various treaties.

Of course, the US reports that they’re merely a supply chain for the Ethiopians who are trying to overthrow the anarchist overlords in Somalia, but this is false — the actual reason is a try to remove a Muslim tribal structure that has supposedly been financing Al Qaeda (likely, even though Somalia is an anarchist enclave with no official currency).

We’re now in over 130 countries under the auspices of peace, but almost every person I’ve spoken with in about 30 of these countries says that no one looks to US troops as peacekeepers but instead as tyrants (rapes go unpoliced, etc).

The funniest part about all of this is that the U.S. Constitution was written and enacted to govern the U.S. government — not any individual citizens or aliens. It isn’t even written to protect rights of U.S. citizens on U.S. land, it was writen to restrict the U.S. federal government from performing acts against ANYONE, ANYWHERE. This means that the Bill of Rights covers rights of ALL people in the ENTIRE world in all intercourse with the U.S. government.

This isn’t just Bushy’s mess, Clinton had the same mess in his time. This is typical tyranny, no holds barred in terms of which party is in power.

FWIW, they just released more federal budget items and the debt grew from $4 trillion (TRILLION) during Clinton’s last days to over $9 trillion under Bush’s regime. That warmongering will not just cost you your future income, but your children’s and your children’s children. Very, very sad — especially considering how many Chrisitans support the current regime.

Thank God I don’t vote, and I don’t support either side — I can’t accept blame for this mess. From a famous Christian bumper sticker to my slogan: No war? Know peace. Know war? No peace.

  • Jason says:

Bushy? Or the some 200+ congress people and senators that voted for the war?

Maybe we let Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, etc nuke Israel and other surrounding countries then see how fast people point the finger to us?

The US is at fault no matter what they do. Build walls, shut down all the ports, don’t let anyone in. This is to me what you seem to favor at times Adam. Because if the US is in another country they are sinning. Again, I obviously can’t support murder because it’s obviously wrong. But I choose to live here, and must live with the good and bad. Why not worry about what I can control in that I love the others around me? Why always bash the US is my point?

Some people say this to be “rude” or “mean”, but it does hold some water. If the US is so evil why live here? If our money is meaningless why work here?

  • rags says:

There is an important element of truth in what Jason says. The US is in a unique position as the world’s lone superpower (you can bemoan this reality all you want and talk about how unfair it is to all of those other worthy candidates in the world community–but it is the truth that we must deal with). If we build walls and become isolationists–we are greedy uncaring bastards. If we work for our national interests worldwide and in the process help to feed and free (and yes, sometimes kill) people in the process we are imperialistic. All I hear is criticism. I hear no suggestions for what our national policy ought to be except empty platitudes about peace.

Will Iran be next? Unlikely. Their president is not nearly as popular in Iran as he is around the Middle East. But make no mistake–the war on terror isn’t over and it doesn’t end when Barak becomes president either. We may falsely think so or hope so–until another domestic 9/11 happens. And then we will be faced with the same group of questions all over again–only this time they won’t have an unpopular cowboy from Texas to treat as a strawman. I’m sure the next president whoever she may be will make virtually the same decisions (because is there a difference between the parties when you move beyond the rhetoric?) but we will all hear about how wise and thoughtful her decisions are.

  • Rhonda says:

I’m thinking it looks like there is some confusion as to who the enemy is.

  • A.B. Dada says:

The enemy is government — all government. It was no different in Jesus’ time. The U.S. is evil, just like all large users of force are. Iraq never hurt me — they aren’t my enemy. Yet I hurt Iraq, my tax dollars hurt them for 12-15 years.

Jason, why live here? Because I choose the US as one place to call home. I also live elsewhere, having residency cards in 2 other countries. Why moan about it? Because you liberals and conservatives did this in my lifetime with your trite powermongering. Christians must carry on the discussions lest we forget that Christ was a peaceful, loving individual. We must get out families and friends in faith to quit the military, the police force and the government office. Don’t get paid for using force, don’t get paid by stealing from others.

Also, I don’t work in the U.S., I am employed solely in France and Poland — not in U.S. dollars. I don’t use U.S. dollars except in transition, preferring gold currency or assets. I serve in the U.S. because it is sicker and deadlier than Africa, India and Russia combined. When it perishes, as all empires do, it will be a sad time. But hopefully my friends and family will be informed and prepared.

  • A.B. Dada says:

FWIW, I am not an isolationist — I want open borders, no government security and no passports. Free enterprise markets, no welffare. Private subsidies,no taxes. Private education and healthcare, not the trash we have now. Trade with everyone everywhere, threaten no one.

  • b-matt says:

A.B. … glad to know you want that, but that won’t happen in this lifetime. There is a fine line between fantasy and reality.

And, Rags, there are actually some significant differences between the parties beyond rhetoric, though I would agree that in many ways, those differences are minor when it comes to foreign policy and war.

  • Rhonda says:

What I meant when I said,
“there is some confusion as to who the enemy is”
    Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

    that’s all.

  • A.B. Dada says:

A.B. … glad to know you want that, but that won’t happen in this lifetime. There is a fine line between fantasy and reality.

And yet it has happened and continues to happen. Hong Kong has been virtually government-free in terms of economic control and a police state, and it has flourished. Dubai is paradise on earth — no taxes, no state power, no regulations, no economic controls, no inflationary currency. Sheikf HH Maktoum is a world hero — and he is harmed by the US conservatives who call him a terrorist (even though he favors no side and trades with everyone, Islam and Christian and Jew). In the US, all we will face is bankruptcy and social destruction as we continue to try to live legalistically in faith rather than spiritually in His strength.

Rhonda: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Oh, yeah I did misunderstand :) For me, Ephesians is historical and not current in terms of its meaning — I believe a lot of the Ephesians prophecy was resolved in 63 AD to 70 AD… But I love that verse particularly!
