Saturday Night Live is doing a tremendous job of depicting Sarah Palin… and nothing better than using a long segment word for word… it’s the segment that makes absolutely no sense… and it starts at the 2:50 mark and goes for about 30 seconds.
Brilliant.
I wonder if she’ll ask for a life-line in the debate on Thursday.
(here’s a link to the word for word segment interview with katie couric.)

I love this clip – so super funny. The Bush Doctrine not politics?!? Osama the cab driver? Bono, the king of Ireland!! Any Russians hanging around? Shoo!
So funny the nonsense politic talk, and then not really funny at all cuz it’s so close to real…
How did we get to the point where a person like Palin gets a vp nomination? Seriously?!?
Thanks, Aaron!!! After Kylie woke me up at 3:30 this morning, I needed a good laugh. You always pull through when I need you!!
“How did we get to the point where a person like Palin gets a vp nomination?”
Politicians think of themselves as celebrities and celebrities think of themselves as politicians. I blame whoever invented the TV. Seriously, it started with JFK – a person unqualified for the office but nevertheless a charismatic figure who turned out to be an effective president. Most historians agree that if the JFK/Nixon debate were not televised the election may have turned out differently (also if the corrupt Chicago political machine hadn’t stolen the election it probably would have turned out differently as well). JFK, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama – they all created Sarah Palin, whether you like her or not (which I’m sure most of the people that hang out on Monts’ blog would answer NOT). Her choice is the by-product of a political system that glorifies image over substance.
By the way, I think it is HILARIOUS how upset libs get over Sarah Palin. Is she qualified to be president? No, but they made the same accusation to Clinton and O’Bama (I’m not trying to defend Palin per se, just making an observation – Biden hasn’t been too hot in his interviews/town halls either). Liberals have become experts in identity politics over the past decades – all black people, women, evangelicals, middle-class whites, etc. etc. etc. can be counted on to act and think and vote in certain prescribed ways. But if someone should step out of their prescribed tribe the libs are the first ones to pounce.
Where’s Duane Chew to be bi-partisan now? Nowhere to be found.
Uhh….well…i believe…in my opinion that the reason some of us US American’s fail to recognize…uhh….that the humor…the humor is not appropriate in politics in the US America….also…humor is wrong in our other countries….like South Africa…and the Iraq…so…I believe our nation…should share…uhhh…our seriousness to South Africa…and the Iraq…for our children.
LOL!!!
I watched the SNL spoof of Sarah Palin. It wasn’t as funny as the Clinton/Palin sketch but hilarious still! But seeing this video I’m left to wonder when SNL is going to pick up on Joe Biden’s various gaffes and missteps. If they let him get by without any shots then I’ve got to wonder if the Obama campaign has Lorne Michaels on staff.
