To bad the people paticipating in this commercial have no clue what the definition of socialism is.

  • rags says:

    All hail the savior!

  • thadd says:

    ick.

  • Dan says:

There are actually questions out in the Christian community right now comparing Obama to the Revelation 13 anti-christ.

I will say that the comparisons are quite interesting…

  • Steve Judd says:

    Revelation 13

1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9If any man have an ear, let him hear.

10He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

11And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Uh, where are the comparisons? And where is this Christian community you speak of?

    Really grasping at straws.

  • Dan says:

Actually, Revelation 13 speaks of 42 months that the beast will have authority – some are drawing comparisons to the term of a president.

Revelation also speaks of the anti-christ being a man in his 40′s, of muslim decent who will deceive nations with his pursuasive language and Christ-like appeal. (Being called the messiah, etc…) The prophecy also says people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace – but once in power…you know the rest.

I’m not saying I buy it, by any means – however – it is interesting the “comparison.”

There are a couple of local churches – including one of the largest in Bloomington Normal – conservative, non-denominational, fundamental churches that have circulated this information.

Not grasping at any straws…merely incredibly concerned about who this guy really is.

  • Craven says:

I dont think Obama is the beast but I think he has his number on speed dial.

  • Dan says:

Romans 13 is a treatise by Paul and the Apostles on the institution of model government. As we rightly divide the word of truth and take this passage in its total context, we will discover seven truths:

    1. Good government is ordained by God.

    2. Government officials are to be good ministers who represent God.

    3. We the people must obey good and godly laws.

    4. As we relate Romans 13 to America, our Constitution is the higher power — not the IRS tax code.

    5. Good government is not to be feared.

    6. In America, we are to pay honor and custom and constitutional taxes to whom it is due.

Government is to protect the righteous and punish the wicked.
As a result, we have a practical, historical and biblical mandate to fervently disobey any unconstitutional laws and all government officials who cease to be good ministers of Jesus Christ. God almighty is the only power that deserves unlimited obedience.

A man who sits in a church of a pastor spewing hatred for America and pouring new socialist, marxist, and anti-constitutional plans onto America is fundamentally and Biblically a reason to discount Romans 13.

  • Dan says:

    Discount…not the best word there.

I meant that Biblical governement, as referenced in Romans 13, is no longer what we have in America.

  • Steve Judd says:

1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. 6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Just making sure people get to read the scripture not just Dan’s “view” of it. This scripture was also about Caeser’s Rome which was not a biblical government. Dan pretty much “discounts” most of the bible through his theories. Dan also sits in a church that spews hatred by calling a man the anti-christ. 48 months is a president’s term, but Dan has twisted God’s scripture to fit his own needs. Prayer for our leaders is essential at this time especially for the future of our country and for our entire population.

Chad had some great points on his blog at: http://chadragsdale.blogspot.com/

  • Dan says:

    Steve, Steve, Steve…

Just to make sure people understand correctly and don’t twist things like Steve does:

#1 – Romans 13 = This governement is my government and this new president is my president. I will – and you should – continue to follow it unless it commands you to do something that goes against Biblical principals. My arguement was simply to show that we shouldn’t blindly follow, as Steve is doing.

#2 – Church Spewing Hatred – Steve, my church has not taken this stance. Actually, my senior pastor voted for Obama. So, before you go off spewing hatred and discontent yourself, please check your facts. My comments were based on 3 LOCAL churches stating the commments, and I even stated that I don’t buy into it. Please read before commenting.

#3 – 48 months is a term of a president. Great job! Unfortunately, again you didn’t read properly. I said 42 months – and some were drawing COMPARISONS of this to a presidential term. But – nonetheless – nice try.

#4 – Finally. Something I agree with you on. You are dead right. Smack on. Prayer for Barack Obama and this new governement and administration is 100% needed. We also have to support this man – this government – this leadership – until it does something that compromises our core, Christian values.

Finally, Steve, I’ve vowed to be nice to you regardless of the cost and regardless of what I personally may think. 56 million people disagreed with the selection of president elect. A vast majority being the conservative right. So, most of these thoughts are not just my “view.”

  • Dan says:

Headline on Fox News – as we speak:

    Obama: President of the World?

    Dead serious.

Again, not saying I buy into it by any means – simply a very, very interesting “happening.”

    Here’s the link:

    http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/11/06/nations-look-obama-president-world/

And don’t give me crap about Fox News. It’s better than the Crappy News Network or PMSNBC.

  • monts says:

Dan, if Obama is the anti-Christ then doesn’t that make America the Great Satan?

And if America is the Great Satan, then doesn’t that make you (being in the military) one of the Anti-Christ’s foot soldiers? Not to mention all the other American soldiers around the world?

Sounds like this position (Anti-Christ Obama) is perhaps the most anti-American position I’ve ever heard….

    Interesting.

  • Dan says:

    Aaron,

For the third time, let me again say that I am not of the mindset to buy into the Obama is the anti-christ idea. I don’t see (yet) the blatant Biblical prophecies. That said, there are some interesting comparisons. Comparisons that in my lifetime (not saying there haven’t been in years prior to) haven’t been as interesting as this one.

I find it interesting that some get offended in the discussions of Biblical prophecy and comparisons to modern day events. For years, comparisons have been made to the middle east and happenings over there to be signs of fulfillment of different propechies – right or wrong. However, when such comparison(s) are brought to our front door we take offense.

Revelation and the fulfillment of prophecy of the end times should not be something to get all upset and defensive about. Actually, it’s something to be quite excited about because it means the return of our Savior is ever so close.

The whore of Babylon – the great satan – yeah – it’s interesting to think about how that all comes into play with America – if at all. What it means for the military? Servants? Man – never something you want to think of, is it? However, the comments from Obama re: creating a civilian army as large and as well funded as our national army could draw the same comparisons. Need proof of those comments? Here ya go:

    http://www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=69601

The universalization of healthcare, redistribution of wealth, and globalization of the poverty act drastically lead to the globalization of currency:

    http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-global-tax-proposal-up-for-senate-vote/

Which we all know is also talked about in Revelation.

Even more interesting is his comments re: clinging to religion, as seen here:

    http://www.aim.org/aim-column/obamas-global-tax-proposal-up-for-senate-vote/

Interesting how one sits through Rev. Wright’s church for 20 years – calling him (at one time) a man he holds in high regard – until Rev. Wright does this:

    http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/Story?id=4443788

and it just happens to have the potential to affect Obama negatively that he denounces him. However, he sat through it for 20 years.

I could go on and on, but calling this guy “president of the world” is more than creepy – it really should make us all take a closer look to who this guy really is.

    Nobody?
    Just another left winger?
    Or more?

That’s all I’m asking. It is a blog, for pete’s sake.
