what time is it? break time!

| No Comments | announcements |

As you’ve no doubt noticed… there has been a stark lack of content on ye ol’ blog for the past month. So, instead of attempting to throw things up here from time to time to keep things going, I’m going to take a break from blogging for a while. Call it a hiatus if you will. Life has been extremely busy at the moment, and therefore the blog has taken a back seat.

You can still follow me on twitter for the time being. But as of now, I’ll be taking a break until mid-December. Throw me on your RSS feed until then.

a quick update…

| Comments Off | announcements |

My apologies for not updating, or even coming near ye ole blog for the past couple of weeks… it’s been a bit crazy! Anyhow, just a quick update: I’ve been in San Francisco this week looking at apartments and on Tuesday I found one! You can read about it on our San Francisco Project site on the updates page.

Needless to say things are only going to get more crazy from here, however, I do have some posts planned and upcoming as well as some personal updates on the church planting front. But for now, I’ve got to run and get some more things done!

P.S. ~ Glad to see the Bulls drafted Rose… at least they didn’t screw this up… still done being a fan of theirs, however.

the wife is blogging again… in a new place.

Well, Tracy is going to give it a go at blogging regularly once again! She’ll be blogging about life, but more specifically about our journey together as church planters and her perspective as a church planting spouse! She’ll be coming at it from a different perspective than most spouses. Instead of focusing on being a stay-at-home-wife (or mom) she’ll be focusing on what it’s like to balance a career with everything else.

She’s looking to network with others that are on the same journey, so if you know of anyone please send them her way! You can check out her new permanent digs here and follow along on the journey!

february-march update now online!

| Comments Off | announcements, church planting |

It’s been a really crazy couple of months, so I combined the February and March e-update into one.  It’s been emailed out to everyone, mailed out to the rest and is now available online to everyone else that would like to follow along…  just click here and find it at the bottom.

the redesign

| Comments Off | announcements |

So, this is probably the 20th redesign of this here blog over the years, and the last design probably lasted the longest (about a year).  But here it is… just looking pretty, no new bells or whistles (although the search tab has been moved to the upper right hand corner of the page—just click it, it’s pretty sweet!) Anyhow, take a look around and if you experience any bugs, any issues of readability, etc, please let me know in the comments section so that I can fix it!Enjoy the new look!

newthing

| 2 Comments | announcements, life, ministry, vocation |

just a quick announcement to let you know that i’ve rolled our (tracy and I) newthing.aaronmonts.com site into this blog and you can easily access it through the tab » newthing, at the top. in that tab it talks about what it is that we’re doing in naperville and preparing to do in san francisco. at the bottom of the page you can read our monthly e-updates to stay current on the haps in the monts household. i just recently uploaded our december 2007 update if you’d like to take a gander…

also on the page are the current things that we need prayer for and instructions on how you can support us financially, if you so choose.

so, check it all out and let me know what you think!

now that i am finished with my extended research paper for seminary i have all sorts of time available to me to do whatever i please (sort of)! so blogging will be back up and going shortly! i’ve got so much to write about but i’ll slowly let it seep out into the blogosphere so as not to overwhelm you all. so, thank you so much for your patience and here’s to a normal blogging schedule once again!

//update*
After looking at my stats for the first time in about a month, I am impressed that nearly 300 of you stuck around during these periods of silence! So, thank you for your patience! That’s impressive!

twitterific…

| 3 Comments | announcements, life |

let’s just see how terrific this whole phenomenon called twitter really is. as you can see, i’ve added a twitter badge on the right hand side so that you can see what i’m doing, where i’m going and the like… let’s just see how long this lasts and if it really is “all the rage”.

you can follow on the right hand side, or here is my twitter page… i’m a bit skeptical. let’s see if this thing can win me over.

blah, blah, blah

there are so many thoughts and ideas that have been floating around in my head for some time, but unfortunately i haven’t had the opportunity to sit down and actually commit them to the digital world of the blogosphere! between working on my thesis, the leadership residency and making preparations to plant a church in san francisco time has been at a premium and blogging has been shifted to the backburner… hopefully soon i will be able to get some of these things out of my head and into the world!

*//update | 10.24.07
i’ve got a plan to get new content and the thoughts that are rumbling around in my head out into the world! so stay tuned… hopefully this plan works!
